Location, location, location… not only important in real estate, but also in Photography!

I have organized a field trip to the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University three times now and every time it is different. The January 3 field trip images can be found under the Event menu. The June 4 field trip was an evening field trip and I can honestly say that that one was my favorite. The last image I made was at 9.15pm and I’ll probably go back and try again. The July 6 (Saturday) was organized to give ALL members the opportunity to shoot at the campus and inside the Student Union building. It was soooo hot! But that didn’t deter 12 passionate photographers to take this opportunity (for some again) and come at 9am. Some very passionate photographers from Palm Coast grabbed this opportunity to do a sunrise shoot at Daytona Beach, have breakfast and come to Embry-Riddle: Ladies, I salute you!!

The campus of Embry-Riddle is a photographers dream! Lines, reflections, modern architecture… This in the end will culminate in an exhibit in the Nicole Stott Gallery in December! And a presentation of Casements Camera Club images in the Auditorium of Embry-Riddle. So all images of the 3 field trips will be shown in the presentation.

However members can also go to the campus and shoot on their own (I suggest doing that on a Saturday or Sunday); maybe there is a great sky or you want to incorporate planes in the image (tried that 3 times and failed every time…)

We have been given almost unlimited access and we have to thank Richard Rosenthal (our board member) and Mr. James Roddey from Embry-Riddle.

And for people who don’t want to go back to a location or say: “I have been there already, or I don’t know what to shoot any more”; go back anyway and every time you discover something new!

This opportunity is one in a lifetime and I can’t wait for the exhibit!

Happy shooting everybody and till next time,

Ans
